NWSC areas attend a 5-day climate resilient water safety plans training

A 5-day training on Climate Resilient Water Safety Plans under the Floods and Drought Management Tools Project was carried out at the National Water and Sewerage Corporation - International Resource Centre (IREC), from 19th to 23rd November 2018.

The training was facilitated by the International Water Association, Africa Office, and attended by staff representing 16 Areas, namely Kampala Water, Jinja, Entebbe, Luwero, Mityana, Mubende, Mbarara, Bushenyi, Kasese, Fort Portal, Hoima, Nebbi, Gulu, Soroti, Kapchorwa, Mbale and Tororo. One unique aspect of the training was use of a software, under the Flood and Drought Portal (www.flooddroughtmonitor.com), to develop and implement Water Safety Plans. The training will be followed by individual Area trainings for the development of their WSPs.
